Description

Our London tour is split into two parts, winding through parts of South and East London with a section in the City of London. The tour isn't just focused on architecture, it takes you around significant places that belong to the story of London through its immigrant history. The city is often called a "melting pot," but many people don't know how London became the diverse city we know it to be. This walking tour isn't focused on one single narrative or an individual's story, instead, we hope it will show you a different side of the city while delving into colonial history and how it led the way for thousands from former colonies like Bangladesh and Jamaica to find themselves on the shores of Britain. We hope to open up the conversation around colonial history and immigration in a comfortable space. This history is often left off of the classroom and British history books but deserves to be told. Some important points: - The tour is around 3 hours long - The tour starts at 11am - It requires 2 people to run, contact us if you would like to attend solo - There is a stop in between on public transport which takes about 10 minutes. The ticket is not included since many people have travel cards or prefer to pay contactless which also reduces paper waste in printing tickets. The ticket costs between £2-£4. - The tour is mostly walking and standing, if you need to sit more frequently or have any concerns just let us know. - The tour will be going through different local areas where people shop, live and work. We remind everyone to be respectful, which includes not taking pictures of people without their permission. - Please contact us for private group bookings
