It will start in front of the magnificent building of Central mosque, then we’ll stroll along the streets to Green Market, try some local delicacies, after the market, you will be introduced to the best examples of Vernyi architecture around Green Market & at the 28 Panfilov Heroes Memorial Park. Then we will continue with examples of monumental Soviet architecture and finish the tour at the foothills of Koktobe.

Itinerary
Central Mosque

You will be picked up from your hotel and met by our friendly English-speaking guide if you are already out and about you can meet us at the starting point which is the Central Mosque. This grand structure will be discussed along with how religion and culture has shaped Kazakhstan.
Green Market
​
A massive indoor market full of fresh local produce and delicious foods. You are welcome to ask questions and buy a bite to eat.

Soviet History and Architecture
​
We will explore some of the soviet history of Kazakhstan and how it impacted the way of life, cultural traditions and architecture.
Koktobe Hill
​
We will end this tour at the foothill of the popular Koktobe Hill, which has a stunning view of Almaty. You can continue to take the short hike up to the hill and even choose to take the gondala back down.

Say Goodbye
